Our league plays every week on Mondays.
Games are typically scheduled for start times between 7p and 10p.
Each season players are ranked based on their skill level (either through their past season's play or through the try-in). After the try in, Team Captain's will each draft players for their team based on the rankings. A conscious effort is made to ensure a fair distribution of skill throughout ALL teams.
Each team has a representative on the executive group, known as the 'Team Captain'. After being placed on a team, your team captain is your contact for all of your questions and/or concerns. They are responsible for promoting a safe and fun atmosphere for all players on the ice.
Players that are new to the league are asked to participate in a 'league try-in', which is typically scheduled on the Monday before the season starts. A 'try-in' consists of a few short hockey drills at the beginning for approx. 20 mins and a shinny game for the remainder of the time. These sessions are utilized by our team captains for gauging your skill level and setting your ranking. These rankings are ultimately used to ensure a fair distribution of skill amongst the teams.
We do our best to accommodate all 'player requests' which can be made when completing your registration form. We can commit to ensuring at least 1 player request can be accommodated, as long as both players request each other.
Based on the draft completed by the Team Captains, the number of females on each team can vary. However, most teams have 3-4 ladies on their roster.
